OK, not film or TV, but there's not a theatre forum. I does anyone ( I guess that means you Gary ) know whether the soundtrack to Popcorn was ever made available? I saw this at the Queens Theatre and still remember being blown away by the bass and drums track played while the director in the play was 'seduced' by an actress in an attempt to audition. Quite a while ago now, but I'd love to hear it again. Any clue? Thanks.

Hi Musky,
You're right! No theatre forum - I knew I'd forgotten something. Well, if it's alright with you, it'll go on this forum perfectly.
Not happy news I'm afraid re: Popcorn. A soundtrack was never released and I don't think it ever will. Colin writes the music specially to go along with the stage play and as such there is little interest in making a soundtrack of it commercially available - the audiences are too small. If it was on telly then it may have been a different story, but even then I don't think it would have been released.
I haven't heard this music at all and would love to. So I guess you've got the edge on me on that one! In fact, I haven't heard any of the music for any of the stage plays Colin's scored for [you need to get out more - Ed].

Cheers for the answer Gary. I was afraid that might be the case - such a shame as it was a cracking track. The main memory I took away from the show was that music, but unless the show gets a run out again it looks like we'll never get the chance to hear it. PS [ you need to get out more - Ed]. I think you been rattling around in here for too long - you're talking to yourself again!

Hi Musky,
Sorry for not replying sooner, but I've gotten so used to wondering around in here alone I keep forgetting there are occasional visitors from time to time!
Yes, it's a real shame Colin's stage music hasn't been released, so as you say, the only chance to hear it would be to see the play if it ever comes around again. However, I'm not sure how true that statement is - I think when that particular play gets another run-out the music may be done by someone else.
When Equus was staged in Theatre Clwyd (North Wales to you and me!) Colin did the music. Now that it's on again in London (with Harry Potter) I've got a very strong feeling the music has been written by another composer.
Hope that helps.......!
